Ingredients of Methi Chakri
It's 2 cups of all purpose flower.
It's 2 tablespoons of ghee/refined oil.
Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
You need 1/4 cup of clean chopped methi leaves.
You need 1/4 teaspoon of carom seeds.
Prepare 1/4 teaspoon of red chilli powder.
Prepare 1/4 teaspoon of whole cumin seeds.
It's 2/4 teaspoon of coriander powder.
It's Pinch of Asafoetida.
Prepare 2 cups of refined oil for frying.
Methi Chakri step by step
First mix the ghee or oil evenly with the flour,then add salt & carom seeds.After that add cold water little by little to form a tight dough..
Now keep that dough aside for 10-15 minutes.Now for the stuffing chop methi leaves very finely. Then mix red chilli powder,salt, Asafotida, coriander powder & whole cumin. Mix it well..
Now take a small portion of the prepared dough & roll it out. To make perfect round chakri try to roll the dough into rectangular shape..
Now take a spoonful of methi/fenugreek mixture & spread it evenly over the rolled dough. Then gently rub the fenugreek mixture on the dough, so that the dough get to absorb the flavor of the spices..
Now roll the dough from one edge to another crosswise. Roll it tightly so that once it goes into the oil doesn't come apart..
Now gently press & roll the dough on a plane surface to seal the edges. Now cut the roll into 1-inch coins..
Then roll & press the coins just once & fry those into medium hot oil on low heat preferably. Frying on a low flame turn those chakri super crispy..
